What are the hours of operation?



The Club is open from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer and school vacations. Actual operations will be dictated by the needs and opportunities to serve the youth of the area, so hours of operation are subject to change.


How much does it cost to join?



An annual membership is $15. Some programs may require additional fees to cover costs.


Parental Concerns


Are the younger children separated from the teens?



Yes, our site has have a Junior Club for youth ages 6 to 12 and a Teen Center for youth 13 to 18.


Does the Club welcome special needs children?



The Club is handicap accessible, and the staff works with families and existing social agencies in order to welcome children with special needs to the Club on a case-by-case basis.


What types of rules/regulations must children follow to maintain membership?



All members are required to sign a copy of Club Agreement Rules, stating they will follow procedures for signing in/out and acting respectfully toward staff, volunteers, other members and the property of the Club. Does my child have to stay at the Club once he or she arrives?



Children are required to sign in and out each time they visit the Club. Junior members are only allowed to leave with parental permission to do so. See the Permission to Leave waiver. Teen members are allowed to sign themselves in and out, and are allowed only one leave per day.

What kinds of programs and activities do you provide?




The Club offers a variety of programs and activities on a daily basis in the following core areas. (See Club calendar for more details)

Are meals provided?



A nutritious snack is offered daily along with a lunch or dinner.


Staffing and Safety



Are staff and volunteers required to have background checks?



Every staff member and volunteer have comprehensive background checks. All staff, as well as volunteers, receive suitable training.


Affiliations



What happened to the Brandon Area Teen's money collected by donation and fundraising over the last year?



The money that the BATs raised was transfered to the Boys & Girls Club of Brandon account. The money will be used specifically for the Teen Center at the new Club.


How does the Club affect the SOAR program?



SOAR Steering Committee members participate on the BGCB Steering Committee so there is close cooperation to ensure that the programs complement each other rather than compete with each other.
